Q: Why are no cleaners showing up in Eudora's message plug-in submenu?

The most common cause of no cleaners showing up in Eudora (with the plug-in installed) is that the MyList group is empty. The Eudora plug-in uses the MyList group to determine which cleaners to show.

Q: TextSoap always places "MyScrub" in the contextual menu. How can I remove this?

MyScrub appears as a special case in the main contextual menu. One way to remove it is to create a special group named ".cm". This group holds the cleaners shown in the top-most contextual menu (below the TextSoap sub-menu). If the group is empty, nothing will appear. Tip: You can also add cleaners to place them at this top level.

Q: How do I fix MS Word (.doc) documents opening in TextSoap rather than in MS Word?

Mac OS X has associated TextSoap as the default editor for .doc files. To correct this:

  1. Select a Word document (.doc file) in the Finder.
  2. Choose Get Info from the Finder's File menu (or type cmd-I)
  3. Change the Opens with to Microsoft Word
  4. Click on the "Change All" button.

This will change the default association of .doc files back to Microsoft Word.
